The Bridge Fund Organization

The Bridge Fund combines sound business practices with effective and compassionate programs to prevent homelessness among the working poor.

The office consists of the Chief Executive Officer, Barbara Hayes; the Development Manager, Sandra Combs; and part-time administrative assistants Seraya Torres and Margaret Marrello. As CEO, Barbara implements the organization’s policies, working with the staff and Board. She also communicates with contributors and the Board of Directors on an ongoing basis and coordinates all public relations efforts.

Barbara and the corporate staff coordinate the fundraising efforts; manage the organization’s human resources; develop the Annual Report and all visual materials; and maintain the website. With accounting services from Betsy January, Barbara also prepares the annual budget, financial projections and
reports; and assists with the audit. The office also maintains a networked computer system which centralizes the donor records, accounting data, and management information systems for easy access by the program directors.

Since fundraising events account for an important part of The Bridge Fund's annual budget, this office, together with the Board and volunteers, manages all aspects of these events for both programs.

A management committee, consisting of the CEO and the directors of the two programs, periodically reviews operations and makes recommendations for policies and new initiatives to the Board.

In addition, the Corporate Office serves as a liaison to other organizations that are replicating The Bridge Fund model, and monitors their progress.
